Romney vs. Obama (Apples to Oranges?)

Are Such Comparisons Helpful? Hell Yes!!!

Heck, I probably am not that taken by Romney really. Not much I can relate to. Seems like the same old Republican themes. Stale. But, compared to that Marxist Wanna-Be sitting in the house now….well, I will gladly vote for the lesser of Big Gov thinkers. Just keep us out of anymore conflicts and bring our troops home!

Infrequent Thoughts by a Zoned Out Conservative

Well the Paul Ryan VP pick seems refreshing enough. He seems like a straight shooter and if Wyden had the wisdom to sit down and work with Ryan on economic issues than it speaks to Ryan’s affability and ability to work with others. Of course, Wyden wimped out when pressed.

I have never been more disgusted with the Left than at this point in my life. All of it joins together in one big swirl of a sewage treatment plant. Disgusting rhetoric. Disgusting ads.

The old line Republican Party is not much better. So fed up with the image Republicans have carved out for themselves. Fed up with Religious Right and Left for that matter. Foolish and clueless.

So, it will be relentless class warfare and fear mongering ahead. No record to run on except fabrications and the aid of media lapdogs…the Obama Admin is a symbol of behind the scenes ruination and up front policy failures. Purposely laying the framework for more governmental power and purposeful pushing the system to falter if not fail. Intended consequences….Nanny steps in to ‘help’.

Not sure I can work up any enthusiasm anymore. Feeling mentally withdrawn to the charade from both sides.

Citizen Involvement Disgust

This never ending campaign cycle for Boy Wonder and the Republicans is uninspiring. Whether I am still burned out from last time and/or totally fed up with the offerings is unimportant. None of it registers. A bad thing in my estimation. In no direction that I look do I see anything to be inspired or happy about save my own family and friends.

The blessing is in that isn’t it? I have never been one to invest in any of these people. I realize their frailties and the game, the process. So, for now, for good….I turn inward. I won’t over obsess about buying gold, peanut butter and ammo, but I am prepared mentally and materially.

The process is broken. Representative government, the Republic is broken. Executive power (regulatory powers/executive powers) are becoming obscene. If this is the best my country has to offer right now then I am not interested. Show something different before it is too late. Oh, and before you tell me to get involved, to serve, to invest…I have…screw it.

Yes, yes….the Fannie Mae fiasco continues….all about being fair?

This is no doubt some Republican attempt at throwing money toward their rich, Rhino cronies. Has to be. Only the evil Repub’s would do such a thing. No, this might be a touch different. No, this has that tried and true helping the poor as justification. Ah yes…..   No outburst from the filthy 99 ers? Pathetic.

Once Again: Community Reivestment Act + Greedy Banks & Cronies

Filed under: Politics — SwittersB & Exploring @ 7:36 AM

“…the Community Reinvestment Act, a 1977 federal law which required banks to extend credit to undercapitalized, high-risk borrowers in low-income, mostly-minority areas – and which ultimately helped cause the U.S. financial crisis of 2008.”

“…[Clinton administration] Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Andrew Cuomo today announced a policy to require the nation’s two largest housing finance companies [Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac] to buy $2.4 trillion in mortgages over the next 10 years to provide affordable housing for about 28.1 million low- and moderate-income families. (1999)”

Fact No. 1: It was liberal Democrats, led by Sen. Christopher Dodd and Rep. Barney Frank, who for years – including this year – denied that Fannie Maeand Freddie Mac were taking big risks that could lead to a financial crisis. It was Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank and other liberal Democrats who for years refused requests from the Bush administration to set up an agency to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.”

“It was liberal Democrats, again led by Mr. Dodd and Mr. Frank, who for years pushed for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to go even further in promoting subprime mortgage loans, which are at the heart of today’s financial crisis.”

“You look at Obama’s economic advisers, the guys he has counted on from day one and who have raised him a ton — and I mean a ton — of money:Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson, both of them are waist to neck deep in the mortgage debacle.”

“Both Raines and Johnson have served as CEO of Fannie Mae, with Raines taking over from Johnson. Both are key political and economic advisers to Obama….How can Obama go out with a straight face and saw it was Republicans who made this mess, when it is his key advisers who ran the agencies that made the big mess what it is?” says a Democrat House member who supported Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.”

“President-elect Barack Obama’s newly appointed chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, served on the board of directors of the federal mortgage firm Freddie Mac at a time when scandal was brewing at the troubled agency and the board failed to spot “red flags,” according to government reports reviewed by”

“During the campaign, Barack Obama had to fight off assertions that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae had him in their pocket while the two GSEs committed fraud and declined to their collapse.  Obama didn’t help that perception when he chose Jim Johnson, Fannie Mae’s former CEO and chair, as the leader of his VP search committee, a position Johnson resigned shortly afterwards.  Now ABC reports that Obama’s new chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, sat on the board of Freddie Mac…”

“The portfolio of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is worth roughly $1.5 trillion. The collapse of the market for mortgage-backed securities has made them even more crucial to the current functioning of the housing market. The pair and the Federal Housing Administration together now guarantee about 90 percent of all new mortgages, far above their historic level.”

50+ Years of Welfare Spending & Military Gluttony

 Dave Manuel

Despite this government largesse, 37 million Americans continue to live in poverty. In fact, despite nearly $9 trillion in total welfare spending since Lyndon Johnson declared War on Poverty in 1964, the poverty rate is perilously close to where it was when we began, more than 40 years ago. Cato Institute

Wars and Repairs from Carter/Clinton

Dave Manuel re Historical Military Spending (Additional stats)

Obscene spending, whether for creating a welfare dependency apparatus or over kill, so to speak, defense spending. It is all ridiculous and MUST STOP. Foreign aid, military/police intervention,  job & political bureaucracy security.  Both parties are married to a history of growth and both own the tumor. Debt, who holds the debt, welfare dependency, military bloat. Shame!

Obama’s Decline ‘Rock Bottom’

Life for most of us distracts, hopefully so, from the daily onslaught of bad news. Also, the beginning of the 2012 race gives me early indications of a headache. Somehow through the demoralizing news Obama holds onto 40% of the populace that thinks he is doing just fine.

A loyal 40% given his philosophies, positions? 40% of loyal adherents to what? The purposeful overload of our system? This is frightening to consider. Solyndra is out there and let’s see if the 40% care like they would if it were Bush.

Whether we are in a second recession or close to the tipping point, this President and his brethren in Congress are either the biggest bunch of corrupt cronies or the most incompetent. I believe it is a combination of forces: crooks so busy with graft from green BS spoils that they are not in tune with the realities beyond polls and the next election.

Meantime, the forces that want this system to collapse are in play also.

So, with that in play I retreat to my world: Hoarding Woes & You
and SwittersB & Fly Fishing . I also work full time as a Operations Manager. I have mentally turned my back on so much that is going on right now for personal reasons and a lack of trust anymore in the system.

9-11 (Pearl Harbor Faded)

I won’t go on about the obvious re 9-11. Respect is paid to all that died and served that day at ‘ground zero’, the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania. Well, I say obvious, but maybe it isn’t as much anymore.

I resent the hell out of those that are trying to push the unification, service, we are all one crap that I saw the Ad Council push this past week. Seriously, what drivel. Decisions to exclude fire fighters and religious concepts from the N.Y. service are indicative of the PC BS that is going to boil over in this country.

Pearl Harbor has faded. 9-11 will fade even quicker if the Kum Ba Yah crowd have their way.

Disgusting Display of Representative Govt.

So, it goes in this obscene display of parliamentary debacle. The system at work? Better than rioting in the streets they say. I spose it is. No one has died in Congress today. Fed up with it all. Republicans will eventually compromise to some version of the Reid Bill…to what will be a sordid mess. In the end, the Rhinos will be tied to the economic destruction of this country. Hard to criticize what you compromised to in the end; have compromised to for decades.

The Tea Party over estimated their mandate, it is said. What is real and what is propaganda to steer us?  Brinksmanship. Sick of it all like competing forces that both ignore reality…competing shrinks arguing over the meds to give us and not competent to cure  our mental illness. Woe is me. Damn pissed off.
