Bruce Springsteen’s a Girlie Man! Wal-Mart Mistake My Ass…what a wimp.

Springsteen calls Wal-Mart deal a mistake

01/31/2009 12:51 AM, AP
The Associated Press

“The Boss is owning up to a mistake.

In an interview with The New York Times, Bruce Springsteen says he shouldn’t have made a deal with Wal-Mart. This month, the store started exclusively selling a Springsteen greatest-hits CD.

Some fans were critical because Springsteen has been a longtime supporter of worker’s rights, and Wal-Mart has faced criticism for its labor practices. Springsteen’s team didn’t vet the issue as closely as it should have, and that he “dropped the ball on it,” he told the Times for a story to be published in Sunday editions and previewed on its Web site.

Springsteen went on to say: “It was a mistake. Our batting average is usually very good, but we missed that one. Fans will call you on that stuff, as it should be.”

“Millions of Springsteen fans have counted on Wal-Mart over the years to deliver his music into their lives, and we will continue to offer those fans this ‘Greatest Hits‘ exclusive and his other popular albums at unbeatable prices,” Wal-Mart said in a statement, adding: “We are proud of the good jobs, benefits and career opportunities we provide to more than 1.4 million U.S. associates who choose to work at Wal-Mart and serve our customers every day.”

Springsteen released his new CD “Working on a Dream” this week and is performing the halftime show at the Super Bowl.”

Regressive’s Accumulation of Corruption (Leftist Double Standards)

William Jerfferson, Geithner, Daschle, Rangle, Blagovich, Frank, Dodd, Reid

This a non topic to the msm or the shrill, vaporous brained followers over at Margaret & Helen. Yes, they are worried about Rush, Coulter, Palin or a tone of voice. In the mean time they utter nary a peep on the ilk that is Obama and our pending slide into oblivion.

The list will grow, the unethical machinations will grow. The differences are so transparent and so foregiven.  No hearings, no relentless hearings, no massive media push ala Palin or ol’ foot tapper in Idaho?

Obama and the Regressives’ Smoke and Mirrors

Find the hidden snow flakes in the blizzard. Billions upon billions of Leftist agenda projects that will savage our liberty and create an ever bigger Nanny State. No questions from the msm fixated. This mess has opened the door, the means to once and for all, construct the Socialist paradise they all imagined. There will be no going back for our freedom or financial freedom. It will readjust generations of perception on the government’s role. As Europe moves away from such absurd planning..we move toward it with reckless abandon. I am already grossly tired of Obama’s stilted voice and poser attitude. He is a poser of the worst type. We are doomed to care for the addicted..the Obama addicted.

Obama’s Glorification and Ever Ready Exit Strategy

Yet abroad it is a different story, where one cannot vote present or charm tough guys and thugs who do not always appreciate flexibility — and may interpret it as weakness to be exploited.

The Iranians prefer to talk, talk, and talk — while they get the bomb. Vladimir Putin wants consensus and dialogue — about re-establishing a right-wing version of the Soviet Empire. China loans us trillions to buy its goods — with the idea that it will soon leverage our financial policy. Europe wants to be courted while expecting America to both lead and be criticized for leading.

I recall years ago heading into an important, large strategy session and having my boss tell me to not worry about the intense response I anticipated. He said, “It is all appearance over substance.” We had a great smoke and mirrors presentation for the unquestioning large group. But, afterwards in the smaller session with serious minded people..I had my ass handed to me. They wanted details and did not tolerate empty rhetoric or fluff. My sweet dispositon, smooth talk and charts meant nothing. I was chewed up and learned a valuable lesson and a huge disrepect for appearance over substance type. To glorify appearance and rhetoric is an immense aggravator for me.

Of course, with Obama the appearance over substance crap is smoke and mirrors at its finest and the behind the scenes small print, so to speak, is the danger the euphoric masses are missing. Maybe they aren’t and don’t value their freedom and national identity enough to worry about the changes about to happen…they are too busy listening to the hype and addicted to the imagery…these are pathetic times on the appearance over substance level…and frightening times when you get a glimpse behind the curtain…

HerOin on N.Y. Streets reflects the New Entrepreneurial Push

HillBuzz ( highlights the entrepreneurial spirit generated via Obama’s Hope and Change. There does not seem to be any respite from the obscene fascination with the Obama’s. I loved (small l) Ronald Reagan. But, I knew that to Love him was foolishly careless for any citizen that prizes liberty. HillBuzz has been relentless in highlighting the silliness of those that worship a person versus the principles HillBuzz believes should be the guiding focus.

Hope! Change! Heroin!

Socialism (Incrementally, In Chunks, While We Doze)

liberty1You know while we wait for the waters to crest; while we watch but thankful it is not our back yard; while we look askance at Euro’s failure at socialist policies and immigration and are thankful it is not us; a new awareness of the powers before and now of  Executive Orders; incrementally the changes occur and look how much has already happened as we march toward secularism and a nanny state. We have slowly become numb to labels and guilt and hesitant to call bullshit on bad policy. It is before us and here we sit, the supporters of a liberal RINO and a sabotaged VP candidate and all we can do is point a feeble finger at the msm and already we forget all the links that so obviously pointed to where this man got his theoretical wings.

The rumors have been rampant since the beginning of the 2008 election cycle, Barack Obama is a Socialist.  Denials have also been as rampant and the sequestering of Barack’s past became the full time employ of the media and their democratic cohorts.  But no matter how much window dressing and firewalls are added to the Obama presidency, it is still clear that Obama harbors socialist tendencies.  This is evidenced by his friends, business partners, political associations and most recently, by his cabinet appointments.  The latest of which was the most glaring example of obviousness no whitewash could possibly hide.

One Truth to Remember; One Piece to Tuck Away for the Future

The Big Lie of the late 20th century was that Nazism was Rightist. It was in fact typical of the Leftism of its day. It was only to the Right of Stalin’s Communism. The very word “Nazi” is a German abbreviation for “National Socialist” (Nationalsozialist) and the full name of Hitler’s political party (translated) was “The National Socialist German Workers’ Party” (In German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei).

I posted re Dick Morris’ piece a few days ago. I have sense re-read it. I listened to Limbaugh read it today…I went and again read it…it needs to be read and digested and saved…it is the decree of destruction for our liberty. It, the suggested change, will lead to violence, if not civil war. It is quite sobering to read:

The Obama Presidency: Here Comes Socialism

By Dick Morris

2009-2010 will rank with 1913-14, 1933-36, 1964-65 and 1981-82 as years that will permanently change our government, politics and lives. Just as the stars were aligned for Wilson, Roosevelt, Johnson and Reagan, they are aligned for Obama. Simply put, we enter his administration as free-enterprise, market-dominated, laissez-faire America. We will shortly become like Germany, France, the United Kingdom, or Sweden — a socialist democracy in which the government dominates the economy, determines private-sector priorities and offers a vastly expanded range of services to many more people at much higher taxes.

Obama will accomplish his agenda of “reform” under the rubric of “recovery.” Using the electoral mandate bestowed on a Democratic Congress by restless voters and the economic power given his administration by terrified Americans, he will change our country fundamentally in the name of lifting the depression. His stimulus packages won’t do much to shorten the downturn — although they will make it less painful — but they will do a great deal to change our nation.

In implementing his agenda, Barack Obama will emulate the example of Franklin D. Roosevelt. (Not the liberal mythology of the New Deal, but the actuality of what it accomplished.) When FDR took office, he was enormously successful in averting a total collapse of the banking system and the economy. But his New Deal measures only succeeded in lowering the unemployment rate from 23 percent in 1933, when he took office, to 13 percent in the summer of 1937. It never went lower. And his policies of over-regulation generated such business uncertainty that they triggered a second-term recession. Unemployment in 1938 rose to 17 percent and, in 1940, on the verge of the war-driven recovery, stood at 15 percent. (These data and the real story of Hoover’s and Roosevelt’s missteps, uncolored by ideology, are available in The Forgotten Man by Amity Shlaes, copyright 2007.)

But in the name of a largely unsuccessful effort to end the Depression, Roosevelt passed crucial and permanent reforms that have dominated our lives ever since, including Social Security, the creation of the Securities and Exchange Commission, unionization under the Wagner Act, the federal minimum wage and a host of other fundamental changes.

Obama’s record will be similar, although less wise and more destructive. He will begin by passing every program for which liberals have lusted for decades, from alternative-energy sources to school renovations, infrastructure repairs and technology enhancements. These are all good programs, but they normally would be stretched out for years. But freed of any constraint on the deficit — indeed, empowered by a mandate to raise it as high as possible — Obama will do them all rather quickly.

But it is not his spending that will transform our political system, it is his tax and welfare policies. In the name of short-term stimulus, he will give every American family (who makes less than $200,000) a welfare check of $1,000 euphemistically called a refundable tax credit. And he will so sharply cut taxes on the middle class and the poor that the number of Americans who pay no federal income tax will rise from the current one-third of all households to more than half. In the process, he will create a permanent electoral majority that does not pay taxes, but counts on ever-expanding welfare checks from the government. The dependency on the dole, formerly limited in pre-Clinton days to 14 million women and children on Aid to Families with Dependent Children, will now grow to a clear majority of the American population.

Will he raise taxes? Why should he? With a congressional mandate to run the deficit up as high as need be, there is no reason to raise taxes now and risk aggravating the depression. Instead, Obama will follow the opposite of the Reagan strategy. Reagan cut taxes and increased the deficit so that liberals could not increase spending. Obama will raise spending and increase the deficit so that conservatives cannot cut taxes. And, when the economy is restored, he will raise taxes with impunity, since the only people who will have to pay them would be rich Republicans.

In the name of stabilizing the banking system, Obama will nationalize it. Using Troubled Asset Relief Program funds to write generous checks to needy financial institutions, his administration will demand preferred stock in exchange. Preferred stock gets dividends before common stockholders do. With the massive debt these companies will owe to the government, they will only be able to afford dividends for preferred stockholders — the government, not private investors. So who will buy common stock? And the government will demand that its bills be paid before any profits that might materialize are reinvested in the financial institution, so how will the value of the stocks ever grow? Devoid of private investors, these institutions will fall ever more under government control.

Obama will begin the process by limiting executive compensation. Then he will urge restructuring and lowering of home mortgages in danger of default (as the feds have already done with Citibank).

Then will come guidance on the loans to make and government instructions on the types of enterprises to favor. God grant that some Blagojevich type is not in charge of the program, using his power to line his pockets. The United States will find itself with an economic system comparable to that of Japan, where the all-powerful bureaucracy at MITI (Ministry of International Trade and Industry) manages the economy, often making mistakes like giving mainframe computers priority over the development of laptops.

But it is the healthcare system that will experience the most dramatic and traumatic of changes. The current debate between erecting a Medicare-like governmental single payer or channeling coverage through private insurance misses the essential point. Without a lot more doctors, nurses, clinics, equipment and hospital beds, health resources will be strained to the breaking point. The people and equipment that now serve 250 million Americans and largely neglect all but the emergency needs of the other 50 million will now have to serve everyone. And, as government imposes ever more Draconian price controls and income limits on doctors, the supply of practitioners and equipment will decline as the demand escalates. Price increases will be out of the question, so the government will impose healthcare rationing, denying the older and sicker among us the care they need and even barring them from paying for it themselves. (Rationing based on income and price will be seen as immoral.)

And Obama will move to change permanently the partisan balance in America. He will move quickly to legalize all those who have been in America for five years, albeit illegally, and to smooth their paths to citizenship and voting. He will weaken border controls in an attempt to hike the Latino vote as high as he can in order to make red states like Texas into blue states like California. By the time he is finished, Latinos and African-Americans will cast a combined 30 percent of the vote. If they go by top-heavy margins for the Democrats, as they did in 2008, it will assure Democratic domination (until they move up the economic ladder and become good Republicans).

And he will enact the check-off card system for determining labor union representation, repealing the secret ballot in union elections. The result will be to raise the proportion of the labor force in unions up to the high teens from the current level of about 12 percent.

Finally, he will use the expansive powers of the Federal Communications Commission to impose “local” control and ownership of radio stations and to impose the “fairness doctrine” on talk radio. The effect will be to drive talk radio to the Internet, fundamentally change its economics, and retard its growth for years hence.

But none of these changes will cure the depression. It will end when the private sector works through the high debt levels that triggered the collapse in the first place. And, then, the large stimulus package deficits will likely lead to rapid inflation, probably necessitating a second recession to cure it.

So Obama’s name will be mud by 2012 and probably by 2010 as well. And the Republican Party will make big gains and regain much of its lost power.

But it will be too late to reverse the socialism of much of the economy, the demographic change in the electorate, the rationing of healthcare by the government, the surge of unionization and the crippling of talk radio.

Not Just a Pretty Face

Especially evident in these trying economic times is America’s need for affordable, abundant and secure energy. This means American energy resources developed through American ingenuity and produced by American workers. I applaud President Obama’s focus on alternative and renewable energy, and here in Alaska we’ve joined the effort: I have asked Alaskans to focus on obtaining 50% of our electric generation from renewables by 2025. In the meantime, we must not abandon oil and gas exploration and development. In fact, Americans should demand the cooperation of the major oil producers so that Alaska’s vast supply of clean natural gas can be brought to market. Alaska stands ready to positively contribute to the nation’s markets and energy needs.

Let the Absurdity Begin (or Continue)

The masses are addicted, the msm is fixated and whorish, the RINO’s are more akin to sheep. Conservatives are eunuchs.

” Public radio and public television— already funded with your money to the tune of some $400 million in direct federal handouts and tax deductions for contributions made by individual viewers, not to mention untold state grants and subsidies — are demanding a hugetastic chunk of the stimulus pie. That’s right: Government-supported NPR and PBS want even more of a bailout than they’ve lived off the last 40 years. According to, which covers public TV and radio, the two entities along with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting have petitioned Obama for $550 million in funding to help create more workers suckling on the public teat.”

“No one doubts that this inauguration attracted a large audience, but the early predictions were flat-out ridiculous.  The entire state of Minnesota has a little over five million people in it.  Washington DC and its environs could not possibly have absorbed that many people at the same time.  These kinds of silly expectations started a mini-boom in house rentals, followed by a mini-crash when the demand never materialized.” (Be ready for more crashes)

“What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them — that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.” So said Barack Obama….”

“2009-2010 will rank with 1913-14, 1933-36, 1964-65 and 1981-82 as years that will permanently change our government, politics and lives. Yes, regurgitating other’s  work…why not. It so aptly focuses in on the absurdity that lays before us. As Morris says, the stars are aligned for chaos.
