Obama Spreading Your Wealth Around (2001 Radio Interview: Supreme Court or Congress; How to Do It?)

This interview is, unfortunately, hard listen to because it stops/starts and impacts the significance. I don’t know if this is the entire interview or a portion. Morrissey believes the interpretation of this is Obama wants to transform the Constitution from a ‘charter of negative liberties’ to a document to mandate ‘redistributive wealth’ in this country. I could not get that as a direct implication of this stilted interview…Obama did say it was difficult not because of the law but because of the make up and the difficulty in mandating public change via the Court. He did not say it would not happen. He did certainly sound as if the Legislature was quite capable of a ‘reparative’ course of action. So, will we have a SCOTUS passing a Constitutional Amendment to guarantee certain rights or a Congress doing similar redistributive planning and implementation? Are we going to stand by and meekly allow such amendments at the risk of being called racists or greedy or oppressive. Assuming the lowest rated Legislature gets even more of the same moronic majority..another unbelievable oddity, rewarding incompetence…then Conservatives need to identify every Democrat that will have none of this and bombard them and Republicans, with no tenates, to stop this insanity. I have no doubt it is coming. The 40-50% of the voters who stand to gain from this largess will never intervene and disrupt their dependancy programming. We must organize if this fake gets into the Presidency. Even if McCain by some miracle makes it, we must stay vigilant to his ‘maverick’ oddities as well.

“Barack Obama complains that the Constitution is a “charter of negative liberties”.  That’s because the Constitution was intended as a limitingdocument, to curtail the power of the federal government vis-a-vis the states and the individual.  The founders intended at the time to limit the reach of the federal government, and built the Constitution accordingly.”
