What Does It Suggest To You?

dont tread

Well, I already know what the pinched, earnest one’s think. Excellent. Be afraid pious, panty wasted hipsters and yuppies. To the State…you are already afraid. Hence the momentum to steam roll our freedoms…to overcome the built in inertia….to subvert our liberty. Individual Liberty…screw the ‘community’…screw the group.

Profoundly Observant (Some People Are So Good With Words)

The cognitive behavior of Western intellectuals faced with the accomplishments of their own society, on the one hand, and with the socialist ideal and then the socialist reality, on the other, takes one’s breath away. In the midst of unparalleled social mobility in the West, they cry ‘caste.’ In a society of munificent goods and services, they cry either ‘poverty’ or ‘consumerism.’

In a society of ever richer, more varied, more productive, more self-defined, and more satisfying lives, they cry ‘alienation.’ In a society that has liberated women, racial minorities, religious minorities, and gays and lesbians to an extent that no one could have dreamed possible just fifty years ago, they cry ‘oppression.’ In a society of boundless private charity, they cry ‘avarice.’ In a society in which hundreds of millions have been free riders upon the risk, knowledge, and capital of others, they decry the ‘exploitation’ of the free riders. In a society that broke, on behalf of merit, the seemingly eternal chains of station by birth, they cry ‘injustice.’

In the names of fantasy worlds and mystical perfections, they have closed themselves to the Western, liberal miracle of individual rights, individual responsibility, merit, and human satisfaction. Like Marx, they put words like ‘liberty’ in quotation marks when these refer to the West.”

The Ponytail Guy and Unconditional Love (Laser Analogy)

Wake Up!

Wake Up!

“In his current state, ponytail guy cannot love his country, because he doesn’t know it very well. He takes its virtues for granted, like his wife’s “kind heart,” without real appreciation of what that provides for him every day.

The other kind of liberal is the one who knows exactly what he believes. He advocates protection and safety instead of liberty (which allows for failure), and in the case of the politician, preempts achievement and promotes mediocrity. The committed liberal politician consolidates his power by feeding on the fear and envy of default liberals.”

Great writing at the Pundit and Pundette (as usual). Not to be forgotten are the Hipsters and their Euro fascination and by default with various forms of Socialism. In my neck of the woods they are the quintessential throw the baby out with the bathwater types…the ‘committed liberal’.

Conservative Wasteland (Mark Levin…Watering the Roots?)

A Reminder of the Basics

A Reminder of the Basics

It has become so bleak and disoriented these past 9 months..maybe longer. Nothing adds up anymore in the Republican Party. RINO’s, Neo’s, Libertarians, Fiscal Cons, Crunchy Cons, Social Cons. I don’t resonate with any one group and that for me is a problem. I want a foundation that is based upon more than war, religion and the wealthy. So, of late, I have heard Levin out stomping for his book, and without knowing much more about the guy, at least his comments about individualism, anti-collectivism and statism do resonate with me like water to the dry garden.

So, his book maybe worth a good read.  I know he has to promote the book but beyond that, I am so done with O’Reilly, Hannity, and more in tune with the Libertarian Beck (at least he is entertaining and thought provoking). Savage is too much even if I do concur with his long stated premise of ‘borders, language, culture’. Someone needs to better explain the factions of the Right and make the process of sorting this out more thoughtful for those, like me, that have not the time to read Burke or Hamilton or Freidman.

I know this, none of them in the forefront of the Republican Party create a spark in me…even Sarah seems burdened down with too much baggage and her folksy political sound bites have worn thin. So, Levin may be all manner of this or that…but, his remarks have been unique, philosophical and beyond the repetitive talking points the other talking heads seem too lazy to at least put their own brand on…The Right accuses the Left of promoting talking points…the Right does this also, or they are guilty of zero imagination on at least spinning common themes into a newer, fresher tone. Frankly, all politics is getting pathetic.

Something has to be offered up in rebuttal to the msm propaganda mantra…or seriously, did we just lose our country to a dipshit that uttered the sum total of Hope and Change while cheek to cheek with Ayers, Mansour, Khalidi?

Obamination (The Crushing Grab…Individual Liberty in the Balance)

takeoverNow is the time, throughout these hearings, for any residual Conservative free market values  to be expressed. Are there any Conservatives with the tenates to speak up about the ‘resolution powers’ to takeover vast pieces of economy under the guise of shoring up critical pieces of the recovery process.  We sit and watch this play out. Tea Party gatherings, protests, are emerging with sizable showings. The energy is there. Who will lead? Please no RINO’s. No Neo’s. New leadership.

http://hotair.com/archives/2009/03/22/judd-gregg-well-go-bankrupt-under-obama/      Yes, the takeover is going to cause enormous damage to future generations, and my fear is the loss of Liberty for the individual…not the collective individual so popular now, but the intended individual that values individual liberty. The Nanny State will smother the memory of individual liberty.

There is a whole lot of meaningful messages at ‘Just a Girl in Short Shorts’ but I must admit the multitude of frigging hot babes and visual stimuli make the case that beautiful women are a potential distraction to understanding principles of Liberty. How Becky is able to concentrate and set forth meaningful concepts amidst all the amazing stimulation is presently beyond me. It is akin to attempting to find the soy burger at an El Gaucho Steak House…

But, I must prevail in sorting out the political-cultural issues of import. I am sure I am not alone as teased men and women sort through the distractions.

Please be civil. Avoid profanity – I will delete the vast majority of it, usually by deleting the entire comment. To avoid comment spam, a comments account is required. Logical failures (straw man, ad hominem, red herring, etcetera) will be pointed out – and I hope you’ll point out any such errors I make as well. If there’s something you don’t understand, ask.
Nonetheless, the idea of comments should be constructive. Aim them at the issue, not the individual. Consider it a challenge to make your criticism constructive. Try to be respectful. Those who make a habit of trollish behavior will be banned.

Pat Buchanan on the Fundamentals of Socialism (Gradualism Shows the Philosophical Creep of Time)

“There are those who think they are holding the pass against a revolution that may be coming up the road. But they are gazing in the wrong direction. The revolution is behind them. It went by in the Night of the Depression, singing songs to freedom.” …..

Enforced egalitarianism entails the death of excellence. For it seizes the rewards that excellence earns and turns them over to politicians and bureaucrats for distribution to the mediocrities upon whose votes they depend. One need not be Ayn Rand to see that Barack has picked up from past associates utopian notions that have ever produced nightmare states.

“Tu quoque!” retort: “You, too!” — the time-honored counter-charge of hypocrisy.

Compromises to principles, reaching across the aisle, mutual back scratching, deals when we weren’t looking, weakness under pressure, lapses in understanding history have got us in the harness of a bastard version of capitalism and socialism. Now O and company want to fine tune this mess and it will not be back toward principles that have been mutated decades and decades ago. Yes, we stand guard to defend the framework of our Republic and our culture…but guess what, were are a day late and many dollars short.

Obama, Regressives and Stealth Socialism

If America lurches towards dictatorship, it will be more with a whimper than a bang. We won’t need to fear secret police so much as the oppressiveness of mass conformity, social pressure, the siphoning of wealth, and the spread of “official” viewpoints

If the middle class is sufficiently desperate, it will vote the demagogue into power. And when the demagogue comes to power, he will find that his ‘age of plenty’ is not so easy to provide. At that point fascism is born. At that point the demagogue, threatened with a breakdown of the whole economic system, turns to the Lords and Masters whom he has been abusing, and makes a deal.  The demagogue stays in office and keeps the people quiet.  The Lords and Masters stay in power and run the economic systems just the way they ahve always wanted to run it.  The corporate State is monopoly-capitalism made safe, monopoliy capitalism with the whole power of society behind it.

May I just say wow! Mr. Roach at Mansizetarget is a very thoughtful writer. It is a bit of a mind warp each time one encounters others that so precisely set forth what we feel and so feebly attempt to write.

————–

Much more promising in most cases than philosophizing as a way of securing initial interest in deliberate social change is capitalizing upon dissatisfaction. Men do not change their social arrangements so long as they are perfectly satisfied with them. Dissatisfaction with existing conditions seems to be a prerequisite for intentional change.

http://www.crossroad.to/Quotes/brainwashing/create-dissatisfaction.htm

The series of pieces at the crossroad site, cover a large area of concern over group think and manipulation not only within government, the populace but with the religious movement. There is a foundation of religiosity to some of the writings. I find these writings informative and well researched. The focus is manipulation and the techniques must be studied now, because Crossroad touches upon the same concerns as Mr. Roach above…the techniques of this ‘gradualism’ are broad based and have been used in our schools, work place and are repetitively insinuated into our lives on a daily basis via the msm.

PARANOID SEATS

liberty41

I do hope the same people that anquished over Bush and the Patriot Act and FEMA and all the other intrusions into their liberty (I must have missed it) will be as vigilant when the government grabs bits and pieces of our liberty and steers us toward the regressive culture and government.

How To Revolt? (If Moonbattery is Right, then………..?)

Soon after Obama takes control, the American economy is going to crash. The policies he will pursue could have no other outcome — nor are they intended to.

The worse the economy, the easier it is to strip us of the economic liberty that made this country rich. Ask the liberal media that brought about his election; the current cover of Time equates Obama with FDR, who prolonged the Great Depression with his socialist policies, and whose heavy hand set us on our course toward communism by increments.

Just as Stalin deliberately engineered famines to advance his objectives, killing millions in the process, we will soon witness a deliberately engineered depression.

When the smoke clears, this will be a different country. Maybe it will be a totalitarian Marxist state, which is the explicit objective of the milieu that produced Obama. Maybe we’ll just be given a hard shove further left, so that our standard of living is permanently lowered by crippling taxes, regulation, government dependency, and the inefficiency that inevitably results from nationalization.

Or maybe — just maybe — Americans will revolt.

http://www.moonbattery.com/

liberty-dollar1So, given the fact the Right is so damn busy producing, and playing the game for the masses, we really are not adequately skilled at organizing and protesting and demonstrating, and getting pissed in public…that’s it, ‘pissed in public’ is awkward. Not the internal anger, but our civility and law abidance kicks in and holds us back like a guy afraid to get out on the dance floor (a little transference there). It will be a quantum leap to defend our liberty while using tactics that we abhor. Demonstrations and bringing significant numbers together to make an impact and possibly court violence is a strange development…but at what point does the ordinary person (me-you) recognize the loss, pending loss and move to the next step? Moonbattery is there. Are you?
