Obama & Ayers (Flashback? No, but just in case anyone cares about the relationship?)

o-shit1One of those unsubstantiated or cross corroborated stories: Obama insider says Barack, Michelle, Bernardine and Bill have always been close since the 80’s and Axlerod pushed Ayers to assist in thwarting access to CAC records etc. etc. etc. Didn’t matter did it? Anarchism, Marxism, Neo Marxism go mainstream.

We shall see what emerges over time. I will assume it will be described in vanilla terms by the same msm sycophants that were the prop piece before.

“The source has stated that Obama and Ayers have a direct personal relationship that extends back to the 1980s and that there are now close ties between both Michelle and Barack Obama and Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, also a former leader of the Weather Underground. Global Labor believes the source to be highly credible but has not been able to confirm independently the comments made by the source.ayers20twn“Global Labor was later told by an independent source outside the Obama campaign that two individuals attending the Democratic Party’s National Convention in Denver this past summer heard long time Ayers’ colleague, Tom Hayden, “brag” that Ayers and Axelrod “would take care of the Annenberg issue.”

michelleobama11The source has said that either Obama himself or his wife Michelle communicate with Ayers or Dohrn on a regular basis, up to “several times a week,” including discussions about the “vetting” of potential advisors to the campaign as well as potential appointments to staff positions in the new administration should Obama win the presidential race.

The source continues to support the Obama candidacy but has expressed serious concern about the influence of what is known in the campaign as the “Ayers camp” on the candidate.”

Stanley Kurtz (Finally, Talking With Some Energy re Obama~Ayers)

Kurtz on Fox News, 0550 PDT, and showing some energy and preciseness re the Obama~Ayers connection. He has previously disappointed with a lackluster, disassebled presentation. Today, he is more aggressive re CAC, Obama endorsing Ayers’ book; Juvenile Justice joint work, Obama and Ayers Panel Discussions re Joint Opposition to Junvenile Sentencing, ACORN (here Kurtz was very aggressive and accusatory): Kurtz accuses ACORN and Democrats (to include Obama) put enormous pressure to continue Liar Loans to minorities. Kurtz will have additional info at National Review Online today (10/7/2008):

Planting Seeds of Disaster
ACORN, Barack Obama, and the Democratic party.

ACORN’s Inside Strategy
Yet ACORN’s entirely deserved reputation for militance is balanced by its less-well-known “inside strategy.” ACORN has long employed Washington-based lobbyists who understand very well how the legislative game is played.

Obama’s Campaign Spokesman, Bill Burton, Calls Voter’s ‘Too Dense to Get It’!

Filed under: Conservatism, Obama, Politics, The Left, The Media — SwittersB @ 4:46 p09
Tags: , , , ,

Barack Obama’s Primary Spokesperson, Bill Burton told Democrat strategists, on Friday, that American voters are too slow to react to the evolving story of Barack Obama’s involvement with Communists, Radicals, convicted felons and that strategists should maintain the MSm’s propaganda saturation to keep voters only concerned about the economy now, so they won’t think long term about what Obama’s policies will do to taxes. Burton said strategist are floating the simple ‘Barack was only 8 years old when Ayers was conspiring to kill Americans’ There will be little interest by American voters with Barack being associated with Ayers in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. So here is the initial response and the standard 2+2=4 simplicity of the Obama Campaign:

“The Obama campaign issued a response ad to the group’s ad, which says, “With all our problems why is John McCain talking about the ’60s trying to link Barack Obama to radical Bill Ayers? McCain knows Obama denounced Ayers’ crimes committed when Obama was just eight years old. Let’s talk about standing up for America today.”

So, the Obama Campaign will deflect the allegations with the following: 8 y/o When Ayers Planning Kills-Bombing, the Bush-McCain linkage, Republicans caused financial crisis, they will count on Kurtz’s Investigation being about as dynamic as Robert Byrd, and Obama’s minions are immediately prepared to present the race card. Why this strategy? Because the undecided’s are pretty slow to figure things out and they still get their news from the MSm.

Maybe they are too slow given the poll numbers. No stomach for principles. The attention span of a sit com and zero concept of history beyond and a HBO Special or NatGeo Prop piece.

Like many of the most extreme figures from the 1960s Ayers and Dohrn are ambiguous figures in American life. They disappeared in 1970, after a bomb — designed to kill army officers in New Jersey — accidentally destroyed a Greenwich Village townhouse, and turned themselves into authorities in 1980. They were never prosecuted for their involvement with the 25 bombings the Weather Underground claimed; charges were dropped because of improper FBI surveillance. Both have written and spoken at length about their pasts, and today he is an advocate for progressive education and a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago; she’s an associate professor of law at Northwestern University. But — unlike some other fringe figures of the era — they’re also flatly unrepentant about the bombings they committed in the name of ending the war, defending them on the grounds that they killed no one, except, accidentally, their own members.

Dohrn, however, was jailed for less than a year for refusing to testify before a grand jury investigating other Weather Underground members’ robbery of a Brinks truck, in which a guard and two New York State Troopers were killed.

“I don’t regret setting bombs; I feel we didn’t do enough,” Ayers told the New York Times in 2001.

Bullshit! Ayers and Obama and the CAC Sleaze Factor: 10

In anticipation of McCain-Palin weighing on the corruption factor this coming week here is the first denial piece. The distance piece. Bullshit!

“Twenty-six years later, at a lunchtime meeting about school reform in a Chicago skyscraper, Barack Obama met Mr. Ayers, by then an education professor. Their paths have crossed sporadically since then, at a coffee Mr. Ayers hosted for Mr. Obama’s first run for office, on the schools project and a charitable board, and in casual encounters as Hyde Park neighbors.”

‘Obama-Ayers: Partners in Revolution’

“I’m a radical, Leftist, small ‘c’ communist,” Mr. Ayers said in an interview in Ron Chepesiuk’s, “Sixties Radicals,” at about the same time Mr. Ayers was forming CAC.”

Radicalism, the Community Organizer and Damn Lies: Obama, Ayers and The CAC; Another Bomb

More Heat Please…More Habanero’s. STOP dancing around the word Radical…today it sounds like innovative or cutting edge…call it Communist or Radical Socialism or something to capture the subversion from within. Be relentless on this cabal.

‘Yet the issue here isn’t guilt by association; it’s guilt by participation.’

‘The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was created ostensibly to improve Chicago’s public schools. The funding came from a national education initiative by Ambassador Walter Annenberg. In early 1995, Mr. Obama was appointed the first chairman of the board, which handled fiscal matters. Mr. Ayers co-chaired the foundation’s other key body, the “Collaborative,” which shaped education policy.’

One unsettled question is how Mr. Obama, a former community organizer fresh out of law school, could vault to the top of a new foundation? In response to my questions, the Obama campaign issued a statement saying that Mr. Ayers had nothing to do with Obama’s “recruitment” to the board.

Mr. Ayers is the founder of the “small schools” movement (heavily funded by CAC), in which individual schools built around specific political themes push students to “confront issues of inequity, war, and violence.” He believes teacher education programs should serve as “sites of resistance” to an oppressive system. (His teacher-training programs were also CAC funded.) The point, says Mr. Ayers in his “Teaching Toward Freedom,” is to “teach against oppression,” against America’s history of evil and racism, thereby forcing social transformation. The Obama campaign has cried foul when Bill Ayers comes up, claiming “guilt by association.” Yet the issue here isn’t guilt by association; it’s guilt by participation. As CAC chairman, Mr. Obama was lending moral and financial support to Mr. Ayers and his radical circle. That is a story even if Mr. Ayers had never planted a single bomb 40 years ago.

Obama’s Chump Change (You’re a Chump if you Fall for the Bait & Switch)

Odd how the Left fears the fervor of the religious Right, but doesn’t fear the religious Left. It is the religious Left that Barack Obama has linked to the community organizing in his own personal life. Alinsky touted Lucifer in his Rules for Radicals book. Obama borrowed the organizational skills for the ‘community’ and did not foresake the benefits of church run pontificating about social ills and the need to organize. It is important now that we as voters acknowledge the following: a black radical steeped in Leftist ideology wants to take command of our government. Do you care that he is black? Not important. Whether you are for him or against him, race should not be a factor. What is important, whether for McCain, Palin, Obama or Biden is what are their core beliefs about domestic policies and foreign affairs.

Obama is a radical. Not radical, like innovative. But, devisive with the intent to subvert. All the seemingly kind and thoughtful words are a soft pillow for the underlying principles that have been the foundation of his upbringing in Chicago South Side politics. Obama is insulated from the broad base of America. Not ignorant of it. Just saturated with his development within the ‘community’ of leftist, radicals and an inflammatory church. This is not any different than you being able to believe a KKK member saturated with years of bigotry and surrounded by reinforcing voices could change his stripes. Obama is a Leftist. His voting record demonstrates it. He is on a mission to ‘reform’ politics. Yes, I sound like a typical wingnut saying this, but I truly believe the associations are overwhelmingly right in front of all of us: William Ayers, Saul Alinsky influence, Jerry Kellman, ACORN, ACA (Annenberg Financial scam). There is this mix of Leftist, Greed, Radical Church, Community Organizing that smacks of a narrow, defined path to power that has nothing to do with America’s well being…or yours. Pay heed.

“…Mr. Obama, whose powerful need to belong drives his career as a neighborhood organizer, his membership in a black church, and his breakup with a white girlfriend. It leads him to make a pilgrimage to his father’s family in Africa, in search of the ultimate validation of origins. Yet if Mr. Obama never quite rejects the notion of authenticity — the need, as he puts it, “to be right with yourself” — he does reject one after another of its most “ominous” forms. For the lost boys he encounters on the South Side of Chicago, he recognizes, even violence becomes a route to authenticity, a “knotted, howling assertion of self.” To balance the self, he decides, some higher moral principle is required — “an order of some sort … something more fundamental and more demanding.”
This tension, never quite resolved in “Dreams from My Father,” largely disappears in the much more conventional “The Audacity of Hope.” Here Mr. Obama’s writing remains elegant, and his political arguments are conducted on an unusually high intellectual plane — much higher, certainly, than in “It Takes a Village.” But the thoroughly personal and vulnerable engagement with race and identity has vanished, a luxury that a presidential candidate cannot afford. The last sentence of the book is “My heart is filled with love for this country” — as though Mr. Obama wanted to retract the ambiguity and alienation that gave life to “Dreams from My Father.”
Yet even in that phrase, Mr. Obama’s obsession with authenticity comes through. As many pundits have noticed, Mr. Obama’s efforts to cast himself as a moderate or post-partisan Democrat sit uneasily with his actual policies, which are in many cases more traditionally Democratic than Mr. Clinton’s. Instead, what Mr. Obama counts on to transcend party divisions is the force of his own personality — his sheer insistence on being himself. As he writes in the prologue to “The Audacity of Hope,” he means to avoid “the pitfalls of fame, the hunger to please, the fear of loss, and thereby retain that kernel of truth, that singular voice within each of us that reminds us of our deepest commitments.” It follows that he is most angered by people who deny that he is what he claims to be…”     http://flickr.com/photos/lavenderlou/2357635276/

‘Klonsky is director of the Small Schools Workshop, an outreach program founded in 1991 by Ayers with the stated goal of providing support for teachers who want to create smaller learning environments. Ayers reportedly recruited Klonsky to head the Workshop.’

‘In 1995, with Obama as its chairman, the newly formed Chicago Annenberg Challenge, or CAC, a school reform organization, gave the Workshop a grant of $175,000. The CAC provided another $482,662 to the Workshop over the next few years.

Obama & Ayers (2000 Failed Race~Inexperienced O’B Touted CAC as Experience)

I have been asking over and over, will someone PLEASE look at the CAC and find out where the $120 Million went? Here he touts it. Here he uses Ayers as a reference. He is not some 8 y/o kid. He is an adult out of law school, hand picked by Ayers to sit on the CAC board as CEO. The door is open. This is his experience in 2000. It seems he has not much more to offer than running in campaigns and being sponsored by Radical Ayers.

Obama cited Ayers job as qualification to run

Interview during 2000 congressional race contrasts with effort to separate self from domestic terrorist

I would argue, though, that my experience previous to elected office equips me for the job. You know, I have a background as an attorney. I’ve represented affordable housing organizations to build affordable housing, something that is a major issue in the district. I’ve chaired major philanthropic efforts in the city, like the Chicago Annenberg Challenge that gave $50 million to prop school reform efforts throughout the city.”
